Heerlen Dance Event

Last week Marc and I went down to Heerlen, The Netherlands to attend the Heerlen Dance Event. The HDE is a humorous take on the Amsterdam Dance Event, and was organized more for producers, deejays and people in the party scene than it was for the general public. Though it was a public event, most people attending were indeed the aforementioned type of people. Marc and I met Nothing But Funk in person for the first time. He's a lot shorter than I thought... Funk, a.k.a. Bert Habets, is one of the dudes behind ICONS, another party thrown in Heerlen.

We also met the other organizer of HDE, and some of the deejays who played their house music that night. Tjoonz resident deejay Ralvino and his buddy Larry Larsson played back-to-back as Kunst & Kitsch, opening the first official HDE event. We talked to some deejays if they were interested in having their mixes promoted on Tjoonz.com, and they all seemed interested. Too bad our business cards aren't finished yet, as just giving them our email addresses didn't feel as satisfying as a card probably would. Hopefully they'll get in touch with us.
